Welcome to Te Pā Tāhuna

Te Pā Tāhuna will be a new community just a ten-minute stroll from downtown Queenstown. This master-planned development of apartments and terraced townhouses will be built on the old high school site on Gorge Road, in central Queenstown.

Ngāi Tahu Property is looking at what will work best for Te Pā Tāhuna over the longer term.
We'd like to find out what would be important to you in a home here.

City living within a real community

Planning for your first home, or planning to work from home? You could reduce your commute, or downsize to maintenance free living if that's what is important to you.

Cultural landmarks will tell the story behind our name, gifted to us by mana whenua to celebrate their long connection with Tāhuna – Queenstown. Te Pā Tāhuna draws on Māori traditions of ahi kā, a place where the home fires always burn, on the shores of Lake Whakatipu Waimāori.

One third of the homes will be available to people who qualify for KiwiBuild

We are still in the planning stages for the project. As per our Development Agreement with the Crown we have lodged the first land use consent for the first stage of works.

Mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei - For us and our children after us

The ancestors of the Kāi Tahu people of southern Te Waipounamu have been living in the Tāhuna – Queenstown region for centuries. Te Pā Tāhuna draws on Māori traditions of ahi kā, a place where the home fires always burn, on the shores of Lake Whakatipu Waimāori.

Cultural landmarks will tell the story behind our name and logo, gifted to us by mana whenua to celebrate their long connection with Tāhuna – Queenstown. It matters to us that Te Pā Tāhuna helps make Queenstown a better place to live and work for us and future generations. We are planning a vibrant community for all ages, encouraging connection and new experiences.
