Learning and reskilling pathways for carers:

Towards a more carer-inclusive higher education sector

Tuesday 7 February 2023, 10.30am – 12.00pm

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the digitisation of work and study in Australia, and skills shortages in a number of sectors are leading employers to recognise the ‘hidden talent’ that exists among family and friend carers. However, research shows that many carers experience barriers to furthering their education and to obtaining employment in their field of choice.

Join Professor Mary Larkin from the Open University in the UK and a panel of higher education and employment support representatives from NSW to learn about opportunities for carers to continue their education, including upskilling and reskilling following career interruptions due to caring.

This hybrid seminar will take place in person and online, and is aimed at higher education and career guidance sector representatives, as well as service providers, school educators and organisations working with carers of all ages and the people they care for.

Please indicate below whether you plan to attend in person or online.
