5 Ways to Wellbeing

‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ introduces carers to five simple and effective ways to improve their psychological and emotional health that are based on extensive international research. Like physical fitness, carers can strengthen their psychological health in of small day-to-day ways. 
 
You will require access to a computer with speakers (a microphone and video camera are a bonus). Event sessions are delivered using Zoom conferencing. Carers NSW will send you instructions about how you can join the session on the day before each session.

 

INTRODUCTION TO 5 WAYS TO WELLBEING (1hr)

This stand-alone session provides an overview of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing program and explores how doing little things in each of the five areas can improve their overall health and wellbeing. 

The session will focus on:

  • What is wellbeing?
  • Identifying poor wellbeing and good wellbeing
  • Introduction to the origins of 5 Ways to Wellbeing
  • Exploring each of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing
  • Strategies to identify and implement the 5 ways to Wellbeing for carers
  • Where to go for additional support

5 WAYS TO WELLBEING WORKSHOP FOR CARERS (6 Week course)

This 6 week interactive, online course helps carers to build their practical skills, knowledge and confidence in looking after their own wellbeing. The weekly nature of the course adds an element of social network building and allows carers to connect with others across the state on a weekly basis. 

The course is run over 6 weeks, with each week focusing on one of the five ways to wellbeing.

The sessions will focus on:

  • Week 1: Connect
  • Week 2: Be Active
  • Week 3: Keep Learning
  • Week 4: Be Aware
  • Week 5: Help Others
  • Week 6: Summary

Participants will receive an electronic copy of the handbook.
