Read-aloud Book Club is a space where carers come together once a month and take turns in reading a collection of short stories, prose, and poems to one another. Bring along a reading based on the monthly theme. There is no set reading between sessions, freeing carers up from the pressures of 'having to read' passage before the meeting.
“It encourages reading for enjoyment. It inspires community, camaraderie, and excitement. It creates a shared experience, revels in fandoms and series, makes reading a true event.” (Katrina R. Pollitt, Author, Librarian)
Registrations for this event has now closed.
These sessions, funded by the Department of Communities and Justice as part of the Carer Project, have focused on enhancing carer health and wellbeing. These sessions have now concluded, the funding concluding at the end of June 2024.
