Grants to celebrate National Carers Week 2023

                                      Important Information

Thank you your interest in applying for a grant to celebrate National Carers Week, which will be held from 15-21 October 2023.

The NSW Government's Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) provides funding for grants of up to $300.00 AUD for carer support groups and organisations from across New South Wales to celebrate and recognise the contribution of family and friend carers in the local community.

Please note, funding
for grants is limited and completing this process does not guarantee funding. Carers NSW is encouraging community groups and organisations to ensure their proposed event or activity provides a meaningful experience for those involved.

Carers NSW welcomes grant applications from groups or organisations who directly support specific cohorts, including (but not limited to), young carers, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) carers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers and LGBTQI+ carers.

Before you begin your application, please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), which are available for download from the
Carers NSW website.

Applications will be accepted up until 5.00pm on Monday, 26 June 2023.

Incomplete applications will not be considered, so please be sure to click the ‘submit’ button at the end of the application from.

Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email, which will include a summary of your application. If you do not receive this within 24 hours, please contact
commsteam@carersnsw.org.au.

Grant applicants will be notified by no later than Friday, 7 August 2023 if they have been successful or unsuccessful in securing a National Carers Week Grant.

If you are applying for a grant on behalf of a carer support group or organisation that does NOT have an ABN, you are still eligible to apply, however, you are required to submit a Statement by a supplier form and a Donation Application form. Both forms can be found on the Carers NSW website.

All events funded by Grants to celebrate Carers Week will be included in our online National Carers Week events calendar on the Carers NSW website. The name and phone number of the ‘best contact’ will be included in the calendar. This is to assist carers in connecting with carer support groups or organisations in their region. Carers NSW strongly encourages that events are open to carers who are not regular members of your carer group to attend. While we understand some events may only be suitable for a select number of people, we do encourage you to host inclusive events where possible.
